Cup Sleeves

Link to the Original Pattern Knit a coffee cup sleeve By Diana Madill

I liked this pattern so much I have “tweaked it” for beginners to knit a coffee cup sleeve using scraps of worsted weight yarn.
Materials: Double Pointed or Circular Needles in sizes US6/4mm, US7/4.5mm & US8/5mm, (I knit loose so I use needles 1 size smaller than stated in the pattern), darning needle, scissors.
Instructions: Start with the smallest size needles to Cast on 36sts for the bottom. Join to work in the round being careful not to twist cast on edge.
Rounds 1 to 5: K1, P1 Rib.
Use the middle size needles to Knit the next 7 Rounds this creates Stockinette Stitch, it is also good for practicing new stitches.
Rounds 13 to 17: Use the large size needle to work K1, P1 Rib.
Bind off.
Finishing: Tie off end and weave into the wrong side with a darning needle. Leave plain or sew on embellishments or embroider on flowers, snowflakes or other designs with contrasting yarn.
